Common Pricing Questions
How much does a courier cost in Vancouver?
+
A local courier delivery with City DD starts at $12, which covers the first 3 km. Beyond that it is $1.75 per kilometre. A typical 8 km same-day run across Vancouver works out to about $20.75. Rush (90-minute) service starts at $24, and next-day is 20% off the distance portion of your quote. You can price any address instantly with the calculator on our home page — no phone call and no account needed.
How are your courier rates calculated?
+
Three parts: a $12 base fee that includes the first 3 km, $1.75 for every kilometre after that, and your service tier. Rush is 2×, same-day is standard rate, early pickup (5–9 AM) is 1.3×, and next-day takes 20% off the distance charge. Optional handling add-ons are Fragile +$5, Time-Sensitive +$4, and Chilled/Pharma +$8. That is the whole formula — there are no fuel surcharges and no hidden fees.
Is next-day delivery cheaper than same-day?
+
Yes. Next-day takes 20% off the distance portion of your quote. The $12 base fee stays the same, so the further the delivery, the more next-day saves you. Booking the night before also lets us sequence your stop into an existing route, which is exactly why we can charge less for it.
What is the cheapest way to send multiple packages across Metro Vancouver?
+
Batch delivery. One pickup, many drops, planned the day before — from $8 per drop at the highest stop density. It requires 15 or more drops per run, all within 10 km of the pickup, booked on next-day service. For regular volume this is by far the lowest per-delivery cost available.
Do you charge more for Surrey, Langley, Burnaby or Abbotsford?
+
No. There is no per-city surcharge anywhere in the Lower Mainland. Pricing is purely distance-based from your pickup address, so a 10 km delivery costs the same whether it runs through Surrey, Langley, Burnaby, Richmond or Coquitlam. Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Mission are served on request.
Do you offer business accounts and monthly invoicing?
+
Yes. Business accounts get one consolidated monthly invoice instead of paying per job, a client portal for booking and tracking, and photo proof of delivery on every run. Recurring routes can be quoted as a fixed rate — call 778-955-0604 and we will price your route.
How much notice do you need for a same-day delivery?
+
Same-day deliveries booked before roughly 2 PM are normally completed the same business day, typically within 4–6 hours. Rush service runs in about 90 minutes with a dedicated driver and no other stops. We dispatch from 5 AM Monday to Friday and 9 AM on weekends.
